California Slope Safari

Just want to make sure everyone knows I will be out of town from Dec. 24, 2005 to Jan. 3, 2005. The store will still be active and all orders will be shipped after I return.

To contact me anytime, call my cell 970-518-7492. If any of you LA area flyers want to see a demo of the Lumberjack, give me a call and we will meet up. I will be moving from flying hill to hill depending on wind conditions. I will have a limited number of kits with me for sale as well along with all the other items in the store.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Canuck Engineering.

Safari Update

I made it to CA after 1100 miles. The first stop was Parker Mtn the hill that has set many DS records. Winds were in the 30 mph range and got stronger throughout the day. It was fun flying a very nice easy groove. Not a record day according to the locals, but it was good for my tastes. Much easier groove than Zion's.

The LJ60 maidened well on the first attempt. KingOfTheHill took a few pictures of it flying.

I'm back to CO

It was a great trip. I was fun to meet all the other slopers I have been reading about for a while. Thanks to everyone for the hospitality. Thanks especially to Joe and David for letting me crash at thier pads.

I only broke a couple planes, new DLG: cracked seam on pod after radio glitched on Fermin, uDLG: broken rudder after botched catch on Fermin, Bee: broken clevis and some elevon damage from rescue off the cliff face on White Point, and carbon LJ, a spot or two cracked on the LE after a hard landing at Carlsbad. Not bad at all!

Now back to the grind!
