Jart BPV

Well, while on my slope safari to CA, I stayed at Dave Field's place for a few days. While there he and I talked about doing a couple EPP Jarts (www.jartworld.com). With Reed's permission I started out making plans and aquiring some 1.9 EPP for the fuse. It's been slow going due to some backordered parts to my new bigger band saw, but this weekend I finally got the saw up and going.

To follow the progress check out the build thread on rcgroups.

Build Coming Soon

Jart is next on the list after the LEG BD5 48". I finished the Banana tonight and now have about 1/3 - 1/2 of the BD build done.

They are calling for rain all weekend so I may get the BD finished and start in on the Jart. No promises though. Going flyin Saturday morning before the rain hits. We'll see how long it holds off and the wind stays around.

Jart Complete

I just finished off my jart design.

I've added pics to the gallery of the build process and the finished plane.

The last couple days of the build has been rushed and I did not get the fuse as good as I would have liked. It will fly just fine.

All up weight in the mid 30oz range. All wing and fuse reinforcements were done using ribbon spars and this kept the weight to a minimum.

Jart flies Great

Flew the jart at the PSS fest for the first time. It's a great flying plane. My compliments to Reed for the great design.
